So I've been trying to search and stalk Ileen's post to find what her favorite high volume foods are for when I can sub, but it's hard to find.

    SO....

What your favorite high volume foods?

#1 Cream of Rice of course! (Right now I only eat it as PWO)

Another one to try, recommended by Ileen. Rutabaga!!! I LOVE this stuff. And for a sub for potatoes or sweet potatoes or rice!! You get a ton!!! And they are AMAZING!!!

I also hear spaghetti squash, although I have yet to try that.

Of course, the ULTIMATE! Protein Ice Cream!!! YUM :yum:

Just a scoop of protein powder, a little water, and LOTS of ice!!! I also add about 1/4tsp of xanthan gum

some of the things right off the top of my head are:

i use/d CoR for any place i had rice depending on my hunger, including post workout and breakfast.

brown rice couscous in place of brown rice (found in the organic section Lundberg brand)

spaghetti squash in place or any carb

    rutabagas for sweet potato

turkey breast (reg or ground) 106g for 85g of chicken

    ground beef over 'steak' (taco/salad)

Protein ice cream especially in the Blendtec or more powerful blender HUGE amt!

greek yogurt over cottage cheese, though sometimes i'd sub cottage cheese for chicken

I've not used that particular recipe but I feel that rutabaga tastes and has similar texture to sweet potatoes. Maybe a little less sweet and a little more firm. But very very close to me. They are a bit harder to cut as well. Otherwise they are delish!!!

I'll let you know once I've made it. ;) Aiming for the weekend. They sell them at Trader Joe's peeled and cut so it should be simple to make.

    yes.
there is also puffed kalmut , corn, wheat too.

I get the quaker brand but arrow head mills also makes one.

This taste like cardboard lol but IN the cereal, for some reason is nice..
    OR
if eating dry by hand, a pop corn 'feel' of one by one to the mouth.. still, no taste..

    puffed rice/quaker
    puffed cereals
