Can any tell me if there is a good substitution for these?
Why do you want to substitute for them?
I work out at home and don't have the equipment.
Can using a band sub for these or maybe kettle bell swings?
You could use a band - of course you wind up limited in terms of resistance progression, but yes you could duplicate the movement w/ a band.
Maybe I can get my husband to build me something!
I gotta start incorporating some of these in my lifts. Something different and I also want to incorporate face pulls. I do a lot more pushing exercises and was watching a youtube training session (can't remember his name!!) and mentioned that fact. I really need to balance out my push/pull exercises. I definately don't do enough pulling exercises. I gotta go find that guys name dang it!!

If you have a multiple band system like bodylastics or predator, you can probably get plenty of resistance (although it is a different kind of tension than a cable so not a 100% substitution). I do them in my home gym at times with heavy bodylastics and there is no way I could progress to pulling all my bands together. Definitely fires ham/glute even with a band!

I love them too! Took some getting used to though!
I always get funny looks when I do these......if I'm thinking of the same exercise.
Sometimes I put too much weight on and about fall on my arse! LOL!! Gotta dig in for these babies!!
After nearly 8 months of performing these, I finally had a guy approach me about them. He was curious to know which body parts they worked, and even said he asked his trainer once when he'd seen me before, and the trainer "who knows everything there is to know about exercise" didn't know either. Really?!
i've never seen another sole doing these in my gym.

Me too-this is going to sound really bad but I can't help what goes through my mind during this particular move. I look at the person staring with a semi-bored expression and think,"If you had a (#of pounds loaded) cockadoodledo you could handle me. My name? Agent 301." It is the only thing that gets me through the exercise.
I call these "The ASS show"
