Does anyone know of good, easy recipes for clean crockpot meals? Now with the cold weather here, it would be nice to have something like that to eat for lunch or dinner, but still healthy.
just buy a crockbook book or look up recipes online. most aren't too bad to begin with - meat/veg/broth/beans.
Agreed. Just buy the book and make whatever changes you need too. Many people don't realize it is great for things other than soups, stews. Veggies and pork chops with a touch of chicken broth are good too. A
I have the book Fix-it and Forget-it lightly Healthy, Low-Fat Recipes for your Slow Cooker by Phyllis Pellman Good. There are some good ones in there and you can modify macros if you need to. Donna

veggie soups are clean and a great way to get veggies in. i use anything i have around really - onions, suqash, tomatoes, corn, bell peppers, yams, carrots (these last two add a nice sweetness). then add some chicken stock and cook away!
Any recipe can be made in the crockpot. There are sites to help you convert the liquid measurements and cooking time.
My fav crock pot recipe: 3 cans pink salmon 1/4 cup crackers 2 Tbsp skim milk 1 Tbsp parsley 1 Tbsp dill 1/2 tsp pepper Line the pot with foil & Mix and cook for 5-6 hours on low.
I made this recipe last night. It is YUMMIE!! I added a can of crushed maters and a can of chicken broth. Crock Pot Jerk Chicken Recipe Jerk is a Caribbean method of cooking from Jamaica. It's a barbecue style of cooking where marinaded meat is cooked over an open fire. This recipe for the traditional Jamaican dish, Jerk Chicken has been adapted to the crock pot so no open fires here but still has the great spicy taste. Serves 4 Ingredients 1 large onion, cut into 8 pieces 1 generous tablespoon chopped crystallized ginger 1/2 to 1 chili - depends on you 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice 2 tablespoons dry mustard 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 2 tablespoons red wine or balsamic vinegar 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 cloves garlic, crushed and minced 8 chicken pieces Method Combine onion and ginger in a food processor; process until finely chopped. Add remaining ingredients, except chicken, and pulse until well combined. Place chicken in a 3 1/2-quart (or larger) slow cooker/Crock Pot and cover with sauce. Cover, set on low, and cook for 6 to 8 hours or until chicken is tender (3 to 4 hours on high).
Hey! What kind of chicken pieces? bones or no bones? Breasts or thighs? It looks good but I'm not making it if it calls for thighs. :nonono:
I used all chicken breasts and they turned out great, very tender and moist. I don't like cooking a whole chicken, for some reason it bothers me to pull the meat of the tiny bones :yucky:
