Also make sure it'll fill you up.

I used to eat rice cakes but with dieting and the amount i was allowed, i didn't get to eat very many. So i switched to bagels which keep me full till my next meal.

I'm trying to throw out relative terms because what I consider a decent amount of carbs is going to be a lot more than a woman half my size needs.

Kiddie cereal, rice cakes (flavored if desired... any flavor will do), bagels, oats, white rice....

I don't ever tire of my same ole' cheddar cheese flavored mini rice cakes. I haven't changed at all in over 6 months. I  them.

That's what I have been having post-workout, lately. I was eating rice cakes before that, but I find a bagel a lot more satisfying and filling.

The chocolate bar? no, because of the fat

The cereal? probably but I don't know it.

As long as there is no fat you would be fine, and add a protein of course

I've ditched the post-workout carbs. Tried to have them for over a year, and nearly each and every time they made me overeat!
Instead I've raised carb intake during the WO.
During the WO, I'm partial to drinkable carbs, and preferably slushes from high-sugar berry jams, like blueberry, strawberry , gooseberry, raspberry.
I'm going to try date jam too, as dates have a very high GI.

Or fruits.. last week I had pineapple smoothie. Today I worked out using dried pineapple. Other dried fruits that work great are raisins. But as I said, drinkable carbs are the best choice for me as you can sip from the bottle.

Other options are kiddy candy (pure glucose) but they made me feel awful = too high GI.. am preferring sucrose here = lower GI.
For others who don't mind very high GI-stuff: if nonalcoholic beer would taste any better, maltose has the highest GI of all: 110.

Wasn't adding fat an extra boost to the insulin output?
In any case, chocolate milk was said to be one of the very best choices for post-WO carbs.

I was going to buy some Honey Combs for PWO, but thought that might be a little too tempting to have around.....

fructose would not be my ideal choice for PWO carbs.
but you could argue "at least I am getting carbs and thats all that matters" point.

    edit: this is Jen
